Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) and Enrichment Activities

Avondale Grammar School offers a wonderful selection of Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) and Enrichment Activities that complement our school curriculum and enhance the physical, emotional and social well being of our students.

ECAs are run by external providers and are paid for by parents. Some of the exciting ECAs offered in Term 4 2010 included:

  • Speech and Drama (Kindergarten – Year 6)
  • Electronics with ‘Snap Circuits’ (Year 3 – Year 6)
  • Karate (Year 1 – Year 3)
  • Whizz Kids Science Club (Kindergarten – Year 6)
  • Multi-Media Art (Kindergarten – Year 2)
  • Robotics
  • Karate (Beginners & up to Yellow Belt)
  • Karate (Year 4 – Year 6)
  • Ballet – Level 1 (Kindergarten – Year 1)
  • Multi-Media Art (Year 3 – Year 6)

Enrichment Activities are run by staff, parents and specialist teachers. Avondale children can enjoy Enrichment Activities such as:

  • Cheerleading (Kindergarten – Year 6)
  • Inside Games (Kindergarten – Year 2)
  • Musical Singing and Play (Kindergarten – Year 6)
  • Soccer (Kindergarten – Year 2)

ECAs and Enrichment Activities run from 3.15pm – 4.00pm, Monday to Thursday. Children are fully supervised in the transition period between leaving the classroom at the end of the day to going to the Multi-Purpose Hall to meet with the Deputy Head, who will mark the After School Activities roll. Children then move to the designated area for their chosen ECA/Enrichment activity. Parents are to collect their children at 4.00pm or make alternative arrangements for the school bus to collect their children after the ECA/Enrichment activity.
