Mathematics at Avondale covers the content strand and process strand provided by the NSWBOS. These are: Number, Patterns and Algebra, Data, Measurement, Space and Geometry and Working Mathematically.
From ‘hands-on’ activities with concrete materials, to abstract concepts and formal recording, the children learn to relate mathematics to everyday life, while problem solving and having fun. They acquire and build essential number facts, such as Times tables, underpinning and supporting their development, laying a solid foundation for the future learning.
