Parents Association

The Avondale Parents Association (PA) is extremely active in the school and plays an important role in helping to create and maintain the positive school spirit at Avondale.

Our PA aims to:

1. build School spirit by organising whole School events for both parents and children;
2. conduct fundraising activities to raise funds to improve School facilities and the education of students
3. encourage and promote communication between the School and parents

The PA committee for 2010 welcomes all new families and encourages all parents to join us for our PA meetings, as we value all opinions and feedback.

PA Meetings Dates 2010:

• Term 1: Wed 10th Feb & Thur 18th Mar AGM (7pm)
• Term 2: Tues 20th April & Wed 3rd June
• Term 3: Tues 3rd Aug & Fri 17th Sep
• Term 4: Tues 26th Oct & Wed 1st Dec

Class representatives play a crucial role in achieving the PA objectives. In each class, one or two parents volunteer to be the class representative. These volunteers are the primary social contact in each class and take a lead role in the communication of PA matters with their group of parents.

As we are always welcoming new families to our community, the PA and class representatives also play a part in ensuring new families receive a very warm welcome and help them to quickly feel a part of the school community. Our PA welcome coffee mornings are a great way to meet parents in an informal environment. Please join us on the following Fridays:

Coffee Morning Dates 2010:

• Term 1: 26th February
• Term 2: 14th May
• Term 3: 30th July
• Term 4: 29th October

Together, we are able to achieve so much and our reward is always the benefits that result for our children. Don't miss out on the 2010 PA events.

• Trivia Night: Sat 22nd May (TBC)
• Fathers Day Breakfast: Thurs 17th June
• School Disco: August (TBC)

• Parents Party: Fri 3rd December
